Just because he looks like a biker, does that make him a good Motorcyle Attorney?
Is it really possible that a personal injury attorney in Denver would only specialize or focus their practice on motorcycle accidents and injuries? Now that I have had the opportunity to interview many attorneys after my accident, I can see that I made some big mistakes. The first mistake was blindly trusting the lame little plastic card I had received from an attorney group at Sturgis. Not knowing much about “motorcycle attorneys”, I had signed up for a free card at the Sturgis Rally four years before my accident. When I got into my accident, after surgery, the first thing I did was call the number on my card.
After calling the 1-800 number on the card, I was called immediately by an attorney. I set an appointment for the attorney to come and visit me in the hospital. I wasn’t about to leave the hospital anytime soon as the accident I had mentioned previously was pretty intense. I had been “t-boned” in an intersection by a Mexican National that did not have a driver’s license or insurance. I had broken both of my legs and my right hand. When I say that I had broken my legs, I am talking about a compound fracture of my tibia and fibula in my right leg. For those that don’t know what the “tibia” or ”fibula” is, these are the two bones that are below your femur or thigh bone. So the two bones below your knee. In my little world, this was the biggest motorcycle or vehicle accident I had ever been involved in. I stupidly believed that this motorcycle legal group was going to send their best attorney over and before you know it I would be looked after.
The attorney did show up to the hospital and did the best that he could in building rapport with me by wearing a cheesy leather vest and putting on the “I am a biker persona”. I could easily tell that this gentleman was not a “biker” in the sense that I thought he was. It seemed that he was just another personal injury attorney in Denver and that would have been fine had he been referred to me that way. For some reason, I believed that this gentleman knew more about my position because he was a biker himself. Not the case.
When I see cheesy T.V. commercials from attorney’s like Russ Brown, I wonder how many ignorantly trust this guy just because he is on T.V. with his motorcycle.
So what that he rides? Is he experienced enough to really help me? After my accident, I learned that many personal injury attorneys are looking for motorcycle personal injury cases because they are easier to handle than your everyday personal injury case. This means that there are several attorneys that would love to take on your motorcycle injury case; however, with there being so many personal injury attorneys in Denver, how do you know which attorneys to go to?
Over the next several weeks, I will be talking with “Denver Motorcycle Lawyers” and hopefully providing useful reviews of cases and attorneys that focus on Motorcycle Accidents in Denver and Colorado.
